1. On Tuesday, Team Leap landed at McCaw Hall to set up shop for the week, excited to talk 3D motion control with Unity devs from across the country.
  2. Seattle, we have arrived. Unite attendees, be sure to swing by the booth tomorrow for demos! #Unite14

  3. FRED Wildlife Refuge was the perfect place to kick off our week in Seattle. An inspiring crew came out for the Mega Meetup. So many incredible indie titles incubating, and we're excited to help you motion-control all of them.
  4. Scenes from last night's #Unite14 Pre-Party. Thanks for coming out. We're alive and kicking with more demos this morning at McCaw Hall. Swing by!
  5. #unite14 Leap Motion are at the mixer and showing off all of the fun. Thanks to @leapmotiondev for the demo
  6. Unity founder and CEO David Helgason revved up the Tuesday morning audience with a keynote jam-packed full of feature announcements and general vision-questing. We're personally very excited for the WebGL exporter and the collaboration tools expected to land with Unity 5. (In the meantime, he reminded us, Unity 4.6 is now in open beta!)
  7. Our resident Unity aficionado, Matt Tytel, delivered a late Tuesday afternoon talk to a crowd of approximately 120 Leap Motion enthusiasts, giving attendees a crash course in Leap Motion + Unity mashup magic – featuring the rigged hand that's included in our free v2 tracking beta assets
  8. Conference Life Hack: Always sit in the front row. Because you may get free swag. #TeachersPet
  9. Thanks @LeapMotion !!! I will always sit in the front row at conferences now! #unite14

  10. We hit the ground running on Day 2 of the conference with our AR plasma ball demo. This is just the beginning with new features like the Image API, and we're excited to see more of your integrations.
  11. #Unite14 day two. So many awesome indie devs milling about! If you haven't yet, come get your hands on this #plasmaball. #AR #oculus #ImageAPI

  12. We attended the "Animating Indie Impressionism" talk from Last Life developer Sam Farmer and
Stefano Corazza of Mixamo. Sam originally kickstarted his striking and dark transhumanist game, which is now fully funded and being published by Doublefine. The whole session begged the question: what would you make if you went indie?

We all have that dream side project lurking in the back of our minds, locked and loaded. For Sam, it was to make a noir game about uploading your brain to a computer and 3D printing it when you die. As long as there are devs like Sam Farmer in the world, we think indie game development will live long and prosper for many moons.
  13. Since a large contingency of our community is comprised of creative types – installation artists, musicians, painters, sculptors, you name it – we also figured we'd sit in for Elliott Mitchell's evening session, "Empowering Artists, Designers and Non-Technical Types to Make Games in Unity."

Lesson learned: if you're not a master coder but you'd like to start building in Unity right away, plugins will save you time, money, and sanity. Elliott highlighted several of his personal favorites, including uScript, playMaker, Particle Playground, and Shader Forge
  14. Each day at 4 PM we raffled off a Controller. Here's one of our lucky winners in his victory stance.
  15. After the Unity Awards were doled out, all 1,500 attendees high-tailed it to Seattle's famous EMP Museum for the Unite Party. EMP is a nerd's treasure trove, and we felt very much at home in the Sci Fi and Fantasy Hall of Fame. And of course, no visit to Seattle would be complete without at least a brief homage to grunge.
