You do not need an account to use the Leap Motion Controller.

However, to take full advantage of the Leap Motion Controller and its unique capabilities, you will need to download our software. When you install the software and App Home app from our Setup page, you will be prompted to create an account. This account will allow you to download apps from the App Store. Once downloaded, these applications will appear in App Home.
