Hi,
I'm sorry if this is a regularly discussed topic, I had a quick look around the forums and couldn't quite find anything which answered what I'm looking for. I'm a university student in my final year and for my dissertation I will be designing a digital game, a mix between trading card style games and battle chess, but one of the main focuses is that it is to be played with a Leap Motion controller, which I recently purchased for this purpose.
The two engines I am looking at to use are either Unity3D or UDK4, but I can't decide which would be the best to go with. I saw some unofficial plugins being discussed for each but they all seemed to not have been updated recently, or being unofficial gives me the concern that it would add a lot of time and work to my project fiddling and refining extra things. I think I saw something for Unity which looks fairly official which could help make it easier to integrate the Leap, but I also have seen some and heard a lot that makes it sound like UDK would be great for easily making my game look and work nicely quickly.
So pretty much, I am very keen and happy to learn anything I must, but with a currently somewhat limited understanding of both engines and the Leap SDK, and only 6 months to do it in, which would everyone recommend as the best choice for me to follow to minimize time wasted wrestling with unnecessary problems so I can focus on the actual project itself?
Thank you for any advice, and also thank you to the dev team who made the Leap, this thing is amazing and addictively good fun to play with!
