Professional conference applications
Does anyone want to talk about developing applications for the professional and academic conference market? It's a multi-billion dollar market but totally fragmented - there are no stand-out products that dominate - so it's ripe for game-changing products.
I'm software savvy but not a developer - lots of experience in the industry, lots of software experience. I know what the market needs and how to sell it but I can't fully exploit the opportunities. I have several huge clients who will grab at decent products. So I need technology partners!
Here are some of the applications I have in mind:
Controlling podium presentations (Powerpoint etc)
Enhanced presentations with screen interaction
Kiosks with 3-d interactive floor plans and flip-books of papers and abstracts

I just started my company HandiSense. We're making leap based software for people with various disabilities and we're also working on the conference market with a product that will let import 3D models like illustrator, 3DS, etc to a motion-ready powerpoint-like visualizer.
So this subject resonate with me and I agree with you that there's an interesting market for it! We plan to have a demo available for september.

I was at the Bio Sphere in Montreal last week and I say a wide array of screen that can sense motion of hands, The subject there was creating the player's vision of a sustainable energy for the whole world. I liked that approach.
