Forum Guidelines

A forum account is required to use these forums and their features.

You are required to have a registered account in these forums in order to use them. If you do not have a forum account or are not logged into your forum account, you will only be allowed to browse some forum features.

Personal attacks are prohibited.

Personal attacks against a user or users are neither allowed nor encouraged. Treat each other respectfully, even when you may disagree with them. Failure to do so may result in infractions against your account or a temporary or permanent ban on these forums.

Show respect to all users.

As members of the Leap community, it is important to show respect to all users, regardless of any differences you may have with them. Doing so will help foster a safe and comfortable environment for all members, and will help the community grow healthily.

Posts should focus on Leap Motion or the Leap Motion controller.

These forums are specifically for discussion about Leap Motion and/or the Leap Motion controller. Please stay on topic.

Imitating or intimating that you are a Leap Motion employee is not allowed.

Do not attempt to imitate or impersonate a Leap Motion employee or intimate that you are one, either by the content of your post, your user name, or signature file. Doing so may result in the temporary or permanent loss of posting privileges.

Trolling is prohibited.

Trolling is deliberately designed for the purpose of angering and insulting other users. Posts of this nature are disruptive and do not contribute to the sense of community we want for our forums. Alternatively: do not feed the trolls. A troll wants you to respond to him or her, and doing so will perpetuate an unhealthy conversation. Don't do it!

Private conversations are private.

They are not to be posted publicly unless the sender of the conversation agrees. This applies to any message or communication from any source that is not normally publicly viewable. Please note, also, that private messages are subject to our forum Rules and Regulations.

Personal information is private.

Please do not provide your personal information, or the personal information of other users, in these forums. This includes contact information such as phone numbers, email addresses, and snail mail addresses. Please respect other people's privacy.

Publicly discussing actions by moderators or administrators is prohibited.

Such issues shall remain private between the affected user(s) and Leap Motion. Public discussion of moderator and administrator activity on the forums are also not allowed.

Do not post pornographic, racist, offensive, or illegal content on the forums.

Posting of pornography, racist or otherwise discriminating remarks, threats to cause physical or mental harm, extreme offensive language, material that breaks any law or otherwise totally unacceptable posts or links to pages that contain the aforementioned material may result in an immediate ban from the forums.

Deliberately circumventing the censor filter is prohibited.

The Leap Motion forums use a filter to prohibit the publication of a small number of words on the forums. These words are generally used to offend other users. By filtering these words, Leap Motion allows conversation to continue in a healthy manner without the need of moderator intervention.

Spamming the forums is not permitted.

Spam is defined as the repetitive posting of the same topic or text or nonsensical posts that have no substance and are often designed to annoy other forum users. Spamming may result in the temporary or permanent banning of your account(s) on these forums.

Do not post advertisements on these forums.

The Leap Motion forums are not to be used as an advertising platform for third-party sales. The posting of advertisements may lead to a temporary or permanent ban of your forum account(s).

Off topic (OT) are not prohibited, but should be posted within reason.

Each forum has a forum topic defined by both its name and forum description. Please limit your conversations to these topics. Failure to do so may result in the removal of your thread or post.

Immediate banning from the forum can result from any of the following

The posting of pornography; discriminatory remarks which are sexually explicit, harmful, threatening, abusive, defamatory, obscene, hateful, racially or ethnically offensive; excessive obscene or vulgar language; posts which discuss or illustrate illegal activity; providing links to sites that contain any of the aforementioned.
